Jon pulled out his actual trophy at the appropriate time in the story and left it on display. The story was already creating a visual but the prop of the trophy really added to this visual effect, making the message more memorable.
Using these kinds of props in presentations can be unexpected and leave a lasting impression on your audience. Props are a memorable way to provide a visual with your message. Just make sure your prop does leave the right visual. Make sure it's appropriate for your audience and is connected to the story. Don't have one just for the sake of having one.
Props don't have to be anything grand or outrageous, as long as they provide an opportunity to get your audience's attention.
